Lack of sleep links to gain weight

How, when a new mother was not strong enough, there is new evidence that the mothers who do not sleep much, much more likely to wrap the baby weight increase after a new study by Kaiser Permanete, and the Harvard Medical School / Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare.

The researchers have found that mothers who are less than five hours of sleep per day, when their children were 6 months were three times more likely transported 11 kilos on the child’s first birthday than those seven. With the end of the line — as a further two hours of sleep could whole.

“We had already been in place for some time that sleep deprivation is associated with weight gain and obesity in the general population, but this study shows that sufficient sleep, even just two hours longer-can be just as important, of a healthy diet and exercise for new mothers return to a prior pregnancy, “said lead study, Dr. Erica P. Gunderson, an investigator at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research, in a press release.

The study also found that mothers who slept a few hours up to a year after what they have six months post had twice as much at risk retention weight. Other studies have shown that the continuation of sleep deprivation leads to hormonal changes that stimulate the appetite.
